The Threadfin Rainbowfish is commonly known as the ‘Threadfin’ or ‘Featherfin’ Rainbowfish. It is a small, peaceful Rainbow Fish that will benefit from heavily planted tanks. Native to New Guinea and Northern Australia. Specimens found in New Guinea are usually darker than the Australian variety.Males have large and unique dorsal fins.

• Slender elongated body that is overall silver in colour
• Mature males develop elongated and unique fins that are black with a red washed dorsal fin and tail
• Peaceful community fish with fish of similar size & temperament
• Grows to 4-5cm

Tank Mate Compatibility:

Threadfin Rainbowfish are peaceful community fish that prefer to swim in groups of 6 or more. Best kept in a ratio of one male to two females. They can also be kept with other peaceful community fish and Rainbowfish of similar size. Avoid keeping with fin nipping species.

Diet:
