The Red Tail Rasbora is a peaceful shoaling species and enjoys a planted aquarium in groups of 8 or more.Suited to beginner aquarists it is a hardy rasbora species.
Red Tail Rasbora’s are naturally found in densely vegetated black water streams. They are a timid species and will gain confidence with lots of hiding spaces and ingroups.
The minimum tank size for a small group ofdwarf Rasboras is 25L. The Red Tail Rasbora will occupy the top to middle water column in the aquarium.
Due to their small size,smaller aquariums will accommodate this fish, howeverwe always recommend going with larger aquariums if your budget allows.
