The Red Flame Rasbora is a peaceful shoaling species and enjoys a planted aquarium in groups of 8 or more. More suited to the intermediate aquarist due to their sensitivity during water changes.

Native toSouth Western Sri Lankafoundin the Kalu, Bentota, Gin, and Nilwalariverbasins, the Red Flame Rasbora is naturally found in densely vegetated black water streams. They are a timid species and will gain confidence with lots of hiding spaces and ingroups.

Features of Red Flame Rasbora’s:

  • Pearlescentbody of red, pink and orange hues withdarkening of colour on fins
  • Male Red Flame Rasbora’s are slimmer & brighter than females
  • Active during the daytime & rest at night
