How hard are they to keep?

Mollies are ideal for beginners as they are adaptable to many water types, and are compatible with most types of fish.

What is its maximum size?

Up to 7.5cm

Where are they from?

They are originally found in Columbia and Mexico but are also inhabitants of Central and South Africa

What is the ideal number to keep together?
A minimum harem of one male and two females is required as they can not be kept alone, they are a friendly fish and love to be kept in community aquariums.

What water conditions do they require?

A water temperature of 18 26 C and a pH range of 7 8 is required.

What should you feed them?

Worms, insects, plant matter, green algae in your aquarium and pellets.

How compatible are they with other fish?

Mollies are peaceful fish that love to be kept in a community, due to their fast nature they shouldnt be kept with very calm or long finned fish.

How do you breed them?

They are quick to reproduce and are livebearers, giving birth to around 100 young at a time. For efficient breeding keep one male with two females and provide the fry with plenty of places to hide.
