Java Fern species are very versatile, provide great coverage, fill space in a planted set up well, and can handle considerable amounts of neglect. Java Fern is adaptable and can be grown in the aquarium, terrarium, vivarium, and paludarium settings both above and below water levels. Java Fern is forgiving and can handle a wide range of water parameters. Windelov is easily recognized for its split ends and bushy appearance.

Java Fern plants are epiphytic and will grow happily when attached to aquarium driftwood, aquascaping stones, or any aquarium decor.
