Ludwigia super redis an easy plant to keep that adds movement and dimension to the mid- or background of the aquarium. This plant has small, round, pointed leaves that grow in opposite pairs along the whole length of the stem. The leaves can be green or red, depending on tank conditions. These plants are very attractive when planted in bunches of 10-12 stems.
It is a versatile plant, but to get the desirable bright red color, you must provide high lighting and nutrient levels. High iron content will bring out more red tones in the plant. UNS Plant Food is recommended to allow this plant to truly thrive. CO2 injection is not required but can help it grow more robustly. The plant can be grown submersed or emersed.
Propagation can be achieved by taking cuttings from the main stem of the plant that are replanted into the substrate.

Loose cuttings are harvested from our aquariums at Aqua Lab. While we try our best to remove snails, we can’t guarantee that these plants will be pest or disease-free. It’s common for tiny snails or microscopic snail eggs to hitchhike on plants that come from an established aquarium. A single portion of cuttings can vary and depends on the species, but generally,it’sabout a handful. For stem plants, this is typically abunchof several stems that are approx. 6″+ in length. If the stems do not have roots, simply plant them and roots will sprout in time. For crown plants like Crypts, it will be a single established plant with roots. For rhizome plants like Anubias, Java Fern, and Bucephelandra, a portion is usually one segment of rhizome with several leaves androotscoming off of it. Please keep in mind that plant and portion sizes can varyas our plants grow and propagate.
