Gourami Moonlight

Grows larger than most commonly available Gourami’s. Also known as the Moonbeam Gourami. Prefers a well planted tank. Adult males develop a pastel hue to their body.They can sometimes be territorial to other male gourami’s, so in a smaller tank it’s recommended to keep a single male.

The Moonlight gourami is native to Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia.

Features of Moonlight Gourami:

• Silver base bodywith a pastel greenish blue hue to the body
• Ventral fins boast long filaments
• Males pelvic fins are red while females pelvic fins are yellow or colorless
• They have an additional organ which they use to take in oxygen from the waters surface
• They swim in the top and middle levels of the tank
• Grows to 15cm

Tank Mate Compatibility:

The most ideal tank mates for the Moonlight Gourami’s would be fish that dwell near the bottom of the tank, or are peaceful species of similar size that are not prone to fin nipping. They are generally a peacefuland timid species and can be kept in pairs or a community.
