Arcadia Optimised52 Tortoise Food is an all-natural tortoise food that has been specially created for pet tortoises. The feed features 6o different species of grasses, botanicals and weeds that Testudo tortoises eat in the wild to give them a balanced diet that’s full of flavour and meets their nutritional needs. Unlike other tortoise diets, this feed contains no filler waste products and instead only leafy green vegetables.

Tortoises have developed over vast time to be opportunistic feeders that are highly herbivorous. They are an exploring species that will graze as opportunity arises within seasonality. The wild diet of the Mediterranean species consists mainly of leafy vegetation, grasses, roots, tubers, and seasonal flowers. Fruits are taken but rarely and as a seasonal supplier.

A wild diet of this type is very high in fibre, low in protein, sodium and fats. Natural geophagy is also a vital supplier of essential minerals and vitamins, mostly from the B group.

Other species of tortoise, such as the tropical tortoises and Indian star tortoises, will still enjoy the food but might prefer other feeds. The food is also very digestible, meaning that your tortoise will produce less waste than when they eat grasses and other feeds.
