Velda Pond Soil

The unique mix of components of this pond plant soil guarantees optimum circulation of water, by which acidification is prevented and fantastic growth of the roots and flowering of the plant is achieved. This pond plant soil contains few organic components and is guaranteed acid free.

Actually the soil determines the biological balance in the pond. Using the know-how of Moerings water plant nursery this pond plant soil has been composed especially to achieve powerful growth of water lilies and all kinds of marsh plants, growing from the water. Its nutrients and properly dosed trace elements bring about this powerful growth during a long period of time. The loose structure of the material guarantees proper circulation of high oxygen water in the soil.

For water lilies and most marsh plants a layer of pond plant soil of at least 15 cm thickness should be applied. To prevent the water from becoming turbid it is advisable to cover the plant soil with Fine-grained Substrate or washed gravel.

In case you use plastic plant baskets advise that you use Velda Cloth Liner to prevent the soil from being washed out and cover the ball of soil with rinsed gravel or substrate.

Velda Pond Gravel

Velda Pond Gravel is ideal for topping up planting islands or filling plant baskets. Ideal also for decorative marginal use.

Velda Growth Balls are extremely suitable for local fertilisation of water lilies and marsh plants. Nutrients, tracer elements and minerals are passed on directly to the plant roots, which will result in a lush growth.

Here at we advise that you press the growth balls in to the soil near the plant roots. This packaging is sufficient for 0.5m squ of bottom or 2 plant baskets.
