Gourami Pearl – Balloon

Pearl Gourami’s are also known as Lace Gourami. The Balloon strain is a shorter-bodied version of this popular Gourami. Provide some open swimming space plus some heavily planted areas. Males develop longer fins and become more colourful when in breeding condition.

Pearl Gourami’s arepopular with fish keepers due to their gentle nature, affordability, and hardiness. They can sometimes be territorial to other male gourami’s, so in a smaller tank it’s recommended to keep a single male. Native to Southeastern Asia and available in a wide variety of colours and patterns.

Tank Mate Compatibility:

Pearl Gourami’s are compatible with most similar-sized, peaceful species. Avoid boisterous or fin-nipping fish. Great tank matesinclude:

If water current is to strong, use sturdy aquarium plants and ornaments to create areas of reduced water current for refuge.
