Red Flame Rasbora

TheRed Flame Rasbora is also known as the Red Fire Rasbora, Pearly Rasbora or Flower Rasbora, andis a species freshwater fish of the Rasbora fish family. The Red Flame Rasbora is a peaceful shoaling species and enjoys a planted aquarium in groups of 8 or more. More suited to the intermediate aquarist due to their sensitivity during water changes.

Native toSouth Western Sri Lankafoundin the Kalu, Bentota, Gin, and Nilwalariverbasins, the Red Flame Rasbora is naturally found in densely vegetated black water streams. They are a timid species and will gain confidence with lots of hiding spaces and ingroups.

Features of Red Flame Rasbora’s:

• Pearlescentbody of red, pink and orange hues withdarkening of colour on fins
• Male Red Flame Rasbora’s are slimmer & brighter than females
• Active during the daytime & rest at night
• Grows up to 4-5cm

The Best Aquarium Size for Red Flame Rasbora’s:

The minimum tank size for a small group of Red Flame Rasboras is 25L. The Red Flame will occupy the top to middle water column in the aquarium.

Due to their small size,smaller aquariums will accommodate this fish, howeverwe always recommend going with larger aquariums if your budget allows.
