The Mcculloch’s Rainbowfish is generally relatively easy to keep and suited for the beginner to intermediate aquarist.Theyare an active species and prefer to be kept in shoals of 6 or more in planted yet spacious aquariums. They are generally bronze to brownish on the upper half of the body and brownish to white on the lower half. They have boldly markedfins and bodies.Colour intensifies in breeding males.

Also known as Dwarf Rainbow, this species has a disjointed distribution across Australia and PNG. These rainbows found at Skull Creek (near the tip of Cape York).
