The Long Nose Butterfly is usually found living among the reefs of the Indo-Pacific region. It s often called Forceps Fish because of its long nose that is used to pick food from crevices. This Butterfly is pretty hardy if acclimated properly. It does best when tanked with other peaceful fish to reduce stress. For reef owners wishing to add a Butterfly, the Long Nose is the best option. While most other Butterfly fish are likely to chew up a reef, this one will be the best behaved. Most soft corals and inverts will be safe, although stony corals might be too tempting to resist. Its diet in captivity should consist of mysid shrimp, frozen meaty preparations and crustaceans. |
