Fluval FX5 Smart Pump Technology (patent pending) ensures quiet, efficient operation. This self-priming system provides plug-in-and-start convenience. Smart Pump Technology employs an electronic circuit board to continually monitor the pump. Impeller speed and force are constantly measured to ensure powerful output and energy efficiency. On a 24-hour cycle, the pump will pause and allow trapped air to escape, ensuring ultimate filtration efficiency at all times.The true power behind Fluval filtration technology lies in the lift-out stack of media baskets.
